Terms of Sale for Controled Excentrics
SALES/ORDERS/SHIPPING/RETURNS
Our Promise: We promise to serve the public, as nearly as we can, to its complete satisfaction and will try to be fair and reasonable with each customer on any complaint or adjustment while always being considerate of the customer's point of view.
When you place an order via the internet, you will NOT receive an imprint but an email of the credit card transaction from ControledExcentrics.com. By checking the box "terms and conditions" and the "Checkout" button below, you acknowledge that you are giving us permission to deduct the funds for this order, including any shipping and/or applicable sales tax, from your credit card account and that you are in acceptance of our sales policy.
IMPORTANT FREEZE POLICY: Glazes, wax resist, and clay will freeze and ruin. Neither Controled Excentrics nor the shipping companies will be held responsible for items received that were damaged due to freezing temperatures. Please take your local weather into consideration when ordering items that are vulnerable to freezing temperatures. If you live in locations that experience long periods of freezing weather, consider delaying your order until warmer weather is expected.
IMPORTANT GLAZE DISCLAIMER: We do not issue refunds or credits for fired glazes that do not yield desired expectations. Variables such as application method, kiln load, and firing temperature all determine how a glaze will fire.
Ordering: We do not see or keep credit card information. All orders are electronically processed through a secure gateway directly to the merchant accounts.
Minimum Orders: Retail Orders = $25; Wholesale Orders = $500
Payment: We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, Pay Pal, checks, money orders, bank drafts, and cashiers checks. If you do not want to put your credit card on our secure web site, please select the "Credit Card (Phone)" during check out, and we will call you for your information. We accept purchase orders from schools and government-sponsored agencies only. Please fax your school- or government-issued P.O. to (304) 765-3655.
Out of Stock: Our shopping cart will not allow you to order Out of Stock items. Use the "Contact Us" link (email form) or call us if you need something listed as out of stock. We normally refill these items within a week.
Sales/Gift Certificates: These may require you to fill in a valid coupon and/or meet some minimum order amount.
Wholesale Orders: Click on the "Login" button on our website to see current requirements. General public promotions do NOT apply to wholesale orders. If there are special promotions for the wholesale customer, they will be clearly stated in a separate email to just wholesale customers.
Sales Tax: We only collect sales tax on purchases shipped to an address within the state of West Virginia. Sales tax rates are subject to change. If you wish to resell, you must have established a wholesale account prior to ordering so we have your resale tax ID on file.
Discounts & Coupons: Sales will display in red above the item. Current promotions and effective dates are posted on the home page with the expiration and discount details as well as in any newsletter or promotional material. Coupons must be entered exactly as provided including upper and lower case. They must be entered in the "Coupon" field at the bottom of the Checkout page.
Shipping Cost: The amounts indicated for shipping reflect estimates for delivery within the continental U.S. based on the actual weight of the entire order including packaging. If you want insurance, check the box on the checkout page, and any costs will be added to your order. If you require more than one box, there will be additional charges. Please remember we want to find the best shipping cost and delivery times for you. Our shipping costs are to contiguous U.S. addresses ONLY. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, your shipping costs will be higher. If shipping costs are more than $15.00 difference, we will email you for approval. Otherwise, shipping costs will be adjusted accordingly. For international shipments, your shipping costs will be higher than what is quoted on our website. No exceptions. Please email us for a quote. We do not ship international orders via Parcel Post and we will not be held responsible for ANY fees pertaining to customs, taxes, etc. These are government regulated costs and have nothing to do with Controled Excentrics. If you pay for your order via PayPal, we will follow up with a PayPal Payment Request for the difference in shipping costs.
Freight Shipments: Some items on our website (primarily medium- to larger-sized kilns and pallets of clay) must be shipped via freight carrier. This is called a less-than-truckload (LTL) shipment. Trailers used in LTL can range from 28' to 53'. The standard for city deliveries is usually 48'. In tight and residential environments, the 28' trailer is sometimes used. These shipments are usually palletized, shrink-wrapped and packaged for a mixed-freight environment. If you need a smaller truck or a lift gate, please contact us.
Tracking: Every order is processed with a tracking number. You will be emailed the tracking number. You can expect delivery in 3 to 10 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. The delivery time frames are based upon the carrier used (USPS or UPS).
Express Shipping: If you need this, please contact us to make arrangements.
Time Frame: Items are shipped on Mondays and Thursdays and shipped at the bestpossible rate. Large orders or wholesale orders may take up to 6 business days. Any special shipping instructions (except for shipping dates) should be entered in the "Comment Field." On a rare occasion, if we, Controled Excentrics, need to split your shipment to complete an order, you are not charged any additional shipping costs beyond what you paid initially during checkout. If you do not wish any split shipments, please tell us in the comment field during the checkout process.
Note: International orders always take longer than US deliveries due to the extra distance and time needed for clearing through customs.
Our Return/Exchange Policy: You may return most unopened and unused items within 30 days of receiving them for a full refund less shipping and handling costs. You may return most unopened and unused items within 3 months of receiving them for a refund less shipping and handling costs and a 20% restocking fee. You will be responsible for shipping costs when returning items to us for a refund unless there was a shipping error made on our part.
Please call (304) 765-3655 for a return authorization number. Always include your invoice number and the reason you are returning the item(s) with your shipment. If this information is not included with your shipment, we can't guarantee you will receive a refund.

If you are returning equipment items (i.e. kilns that ship ground, wheels, slab rollers, extruders, etc.) PLEASE INSURE YOUR SHIPMENT! If your item is returned to us damaged, you will be responsible for collecting your refund from the shipping company via a damage claim. If you wish to return items that were shipped to you via freight carrier, please contact us. We can't guarantee that we will accept these items if the original packaging (pallet, straps, box, crate, etc.) is no longer available.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS OF COMMERCIAL-SIZED OR CUSTOM KILNS. NO EXCEPTIONS!
We do not accept returns of books, DVDs, videos or any other copyrighted material.
Warehouse: Our warehouse is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. EST. Call us for any special arrangements. If you are planning to visit us, please know that we do not fully stock the things in our catalog in our studio or our warehouse. Please call us beforehand to check on this, especially if you're making a long trip. We would love to have you visit our studio, but do please be sure that what you wish to do is possible at our physical location.
