Glass pieces are unusual, really beautiful and oh so much fun to make.
No artistic ability necessary, if you can trace a pattern you can make medallions to incorporate in stained glass panels, serving pieces, window hangings, even a whole set of dishes.
Imagine your amazement when you can decorate a flat inexpensive glass shape and see this flat piece of glass turn into a beautiful plate or bowl or vase. A technique similar to "paint by number" enables you to complete beautiful, functional glassware. The staggers used to form the glass are reusable. A technique similar to "paint by number" enables you to complete beautiful, functional glassware. Warm Glass
The term warm glass refers to fusing, slumping and other glass processes which take place in a glass kiln at temperatures between 1100 and 1700 degrees Fahrenheit (600 to 925 Celsius). That's pretty warm, but a glassblowers working temperature will often exceed 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, which is hot glass.

Fusing and Slumping
Glass fusing is the process of using a glass kiln to join together pieces of glass. If you apply heat to glass, it will soften. If you continue to apply heat, the glass will become more fluid and flow together. Two or more pieces of glass will stick (or "fuse") to each other. When compatible pieces of glass are heated and then cooled properly, the resulting fused glass piece will be solid and unbroken.
The term "fusing" is also used to describe the bending and shaping of glass using the heat of a glass kiln. This manipulation can take many forms, but the most common is slumping, where a mold is used to cause already fused glass to take on the shape of a bowl, a plate or similar object.
You can come in anytime and create glass tiles, plaques, plates, bowls, motive's and other one-of-a-kind masterpieces that can be either functional or decorative.

Glass Fusing
Come in and experience the art of fused glass! Create colorful art glass plates, serving dishes, tiles or 3-D glass pieces that are functional as well as decorative. Create these artful pieces by sprinkling, scattering or positioning various colored fruits, confetti and stringers on a glass blank or in a casting pod. All of this is easy to do - even without any experience!
There are many projects you can create without cutting glass, but if you wish to add that next level of creativity, come in and we will show you how. We have all the tools and experience to walk you through the scoring, breaking and nipping of glass sheets, rods and strips. We also supply the safety glasses, gloves and an occasional Band-Aid if needed!
